Antenatal Services in Muscat

Anne Fonseca Nabli runs the Muscat Mums Breast Feeding peer support group which meets once a week at various locations around Muscat. You can register to attend the support group on the Muscat Mums event page and also join the Breastfeeding Support Facebook page for more information. Anne Fonseca Nabli is a breastfeeding councillor and very supportive of new moms having breast feeding issues, she co-runs the Muscat Mums Breastfeeding peer support group and can also provide private home consultations. Nine Oman 
Nine is the first center in Oman to offer holistic support during pregnancy, birth and beyond. They offer midwife consultations, birth preparation workshops, breastfeeding support, yoga classes and maternity nurse services. The 9oman app is available to download on the iTunes store and Google play and all services can be booked online. Information, class times, workshop dates, instructor profiles and prices are visible on the app.

BIRTH PREPARATION: full day workshop for couples, that covers everything you need to know about giving birth in Oman. Highly recommended for first time parents. 
- 3 hour workshop to prepare yourself during pregnancy
- midwife home visits to assist you during the first weeks at home 
- maternity nurse overnight support (minimum booking 3 nights) 
- twice weekly well baby ​clinic to check babies weight and get advice from the midwives.
- muscat mums breastfeeding support group (second Thursday of every month)
-Weaning workshop - a 1 hour overview of what to expect and how to go about it.
- The Nanny Training - 3 x 2 hr sessions to train your nanny to look after your newborn and how to assist you with basic tasks, 
- First Aid Training - a 4 hour workshop with International certification. Essential for all new parents. ​

Sarah Kofke-Egger is a trained birth doula, postpartum doula, certified lactation educator, and postpartum support group coordinator. She has been trained in the use of essential oils and encorporates this knowledge into her doula practice. Sarah has her Master’s of Public Health and Master’s of Public Policy and Administration and is a mama of a 7 year old girl, Aisha, and 2 year old boy, Ilyas. Her company, Pillars of Strength Oman, offers a variety of services that help sustain and support women and mothers. Muscat Private Hospital is currently running FREE antenatal classes every Wednesday evening from 5-7pm. A different topic is covered each week on a rotational basis. To register, phone 2459 7866
